what is the science that supports changing Ty at home from 10 to 5 days? seattle public schools is still requiring 10 days absence for students who are positive. why the discrepancy? what should churches w preschools do for their policies for students and teachers? why is a test not required before leaving quarantine? and one last thing, “wear a mask” results in very different behaviors from closely gotten n95 masks to ill-fitted bandanas that droop below the nose. I’m very concerned about this advice. (if there are typos, apologies. I have to be on my phone)

24:26
Ty=stay at home. sorry for that.

26:31
when can we expect youth 5-15 to be allowed to schedule boosters?

26:57
The science behind the CDC states that transmission of COVID-19 from one person to another happens early in the illness. This usually is 1-2 days before symptoms show up or 2 days after you've already tested positive. Evidence of transmission spreading after 5 days has not been found as the transmission happends early. Brief highlight on the science.

28:13
Is there guidelines for discouraging in door gathering after the holidays. Because the last slides shared by Willie by email, was just about the indoor holidays gathering.Mohamed Bakr, Muslim Community Network Association

28:20
So is the new data showing that the 14 day incubation is no longer a concern?

28:35
Boosters are available for Children aged 12-15 at this time. Still unknown when boosters for aged 5-11 will happen. 5 months after your original dose mean you are eligible for a booster and many children aged 5-11 have not had enough time between first and second dose.

28:38
that would mean churches as well?

35:53
Is there any update to recommendations for if/when it would be better to move worship back to online-only? Our church just decided to move back to online, but they are making this decision week to week based on the most recent numbers. These are hard decisions, and just wondering whether KC PH would see this as being smart? too cautious?

36:44
thanks for that presentation. been waiting for this for a few weeks. really helpful.

we are online only this week to watch for post travel covid infections.

To add to Katie’s questions:-Some crowded work places where physical distancing is not possible, like warehouses, factories, etc will also continue with the previous 10-day isolation/quarantine guidance. The Washington Department of Health is currently assessing those setting-specific isolation and quarantine recommendations.-Masks need to be snug-fitting (covers nose and mouth), and high-quality. Here is a link to our recent mask blog that reiterates mask guidance:

East Shore Unitarian has not yet reopened. Our planned reopening is January 23rd, but now we are reconsidering.

55:02
Ears can only do so many things. Glasses. Hearing aids and microphones. And mask loops!

55:15
Plymouth Church had our first in-person service in December, then learned a positive case was present. We made the difficult decision to switch to online worship, although we are all exhausted by this.

58:01
Question: how do the singing masks we talked about last time compare to N95 masks?

58:08
is this an open call to worship communities to place orders

01:00:58
Are the cloth masks that we originally got from King County still acceptable?

Yes Yolanda, cloth masks are still acceptable and are effective in limiting the spread of COVID-19.
